Sample Descriptive Essay About A Person You Admire

When asked about the person I admire in the universe, I do not require to look at celebrities or any other big influential names in society. When it comes to me, the person I admire most in the world is my mother. We all have people whom we consider to be highly inspirational and influential to look upon, and in my case, my mother is an excellent example of these characters. She is an extraordinary person in my life because of her enduring strength that I dearly admire, and she is also kind as well as supportive.

One thing I most admire about my mother for is her strength, which appears to be resistant throughout hard times. My mother is a single mother, and she has managed to raise three children all by herself, providing us with a good life and education, while still balancing work. For instance, when my brother and I cleared high school, only one of us hoped to join college because of our financial situation, but she worked two jobs to ensure that we enrolled in college. Single mothers across the globe face financial instability where they are forced to engage in other strategies to extend income to take care of their family (West et al. 359). I hold great admiration for my mother because of her determination, how she never backs down, and the way she stands up for what she believes in no matter the hardships that come along.

My mother has a striking appearance, but behind this, she is very alluring, admirable, and kind. At first, one can conclude that she is a blunt and cold person because of her quiet nature, but after knowing her, she turns out to be a friendly, warm-hearted, gentle, and generous person. My mother has been a dedicated individual in the society through volunteering in church during weekends and holidays as well as helping in the local homeless shelters. Kindness is crucial and healthy since one takes pride in caring for others since they need caring, and it gives people a pleasant feeling (Adamu par. 6). Thanks to my mother, I have grown to be a kind-hearted and deeply-caring person since I believe that it’s upon me to help those in need whenever I am capable.

I am lucky to have a mother who always supports me no matter my misgivings. No matter the activity I am in or the decision I make, my mother is still there for me to give me advice and encouragement, but at the end of the day, she is at all times by my side. I had a difficult time adapting to my first year in high school, and I almost quit, but my mum listened to my grievances, and with her support, I managed to finish high school. Supportive behavior is crucial for individual well-being, especially when it comes to emotional support, where a person can be able to relieve distress from a challenge (MacGeorge and Van Swol 7). My mother’s supportive character has given me the strength to endure a lot of challenging situations in life as well as learn a lot in what life has to offer.

Special people like my mother exist to make our lives better and to mold us to become a better version of ourselves. My mother is a strong spirited person, kind-hearted, has unbreakable strength and very supportive. Over the years, I have learned a lot through her character and thoughts, which have molded me to the caring, decent, and brilliant person I am today. The people around us turn out to be the best role models.

Essay About Someone You Admire : The Teacher I Admire Most

The society holds teachers in high admiration, referring to them as nation builders. However, with the existence of millions of teachers globally, not all are comparable or gifted in the same way. There exist only a few shining gems among them identified as nation builders in the society’s real sense. Conversely, there exists an unconscious fear superimposed by the students over their teachers psychologically (Timmermans 222). An excellent student-teacher performance is most likely to see a positive, healthy performance among the students. https://essaytake.net/order.php

I rank my English teacher, Mr. Doe, as the most desired teacher. Although in his late fifty’s, he still possesses immense knowledge in both literature and life skills. Besides, the lecturer is very popular with the students, his pleasing manner, excellent teaching mode, imposing personality, affection, and love above all strict discipline, a combination of character and personality I find attractive.

The 45 minutes spent in a literature class with Mr. Doe is not only educative, but his method of teaching infused with humor has led to a significant improvement in the students’ overall performance. The lessons are always engaging practically, and every student becomes a part of the class. The later also saw a high-class attendance (Brooks). With his calm performance and extensive poetry skills, he cultured into me one of the best poets in my school.

My English teacher (Mr. Doe) is time conscious (irrespective of the weather), honest, kind, and dutiful. During the physical education classes, he always interacts freely with the students engaging them in conversations on various topics such as drug abuse and misuse, forest conservation measures, and sex education. Nevertheless, he knows how to maintain a good relationship with other teachers.

He has won almost everybody’s admiration for his faithfulness and learning devotion in the teaching profession. I find Mr. Doe to be a man of principles, as he is always truthful and honest. I found Mr. Doe’s lectures interesting, as he does no restrain himself to what the curriculum states as per the textbook; he also tries painting the bigger picture of that which the society encompasses.

Whenever students raise questions in his class, Mr. Doe answers all politely and with a lot of care. This has made me improve my listening skills alongside becoming more attentive in other courses (Costa). Questions repeatedly asked never irritates him. Additionally, I owe him gratitude for creating a strong foundation for my grammar, communication skills, and writing skills. Something I always felt I never had the aptitude to improve on. I vividly remember when I first joined the course as I lacked confidence and motivated. Mr. Doe was always present, assisting me in identifying my weakness and turning them to strengths. He had been a guardian to me as he always advised me on the steps to take in improving my communication, grammar, and writing skills.

Every week, he always ensures to organize school debate competitions within the learning institutions. Because of the teacher’s sincere efforts and self-contribution, the institution has garnered a great effort in our inter-district matches. Three years ago, the district educational stakeholders had awarded him a gold medal. My favorite teacher did play a crucial role in my life. He taught me many ideas and values. He always showed me the right direction and asked me to go after my dreams. His advice for me to be a better person in society is something I still follow at heart.

The Person I Admire The Most Is My Father

My father, Fernando Espinoza emigrated from Colombia to the United States in 1968, with a few hundred dollars and a limited understanding of English. I admire him, the journey he embarked on and the challenges he overcame to create a better life for himself in America. Espinoza left behind a violent and dangerous childhood, where his father and sisters were murdered, to pursue his version of the American dream.

https://essaytake.net/order.php

Espinoza was born in a small village in southern Colombia in 1951, where he lived with his family. During the mid 20th century, Colombia’s government stability was increasingly uncertain, as guerilla soldiers instigated random violent attacks across the country (Cantor 20).

At the age of 6, while traveling with his family, my father became one of the many victims of these attacks, as his father and sister were shot on their way home. Espinoza and his family moved around the country quite routinely after the attack, never staying in one village for too long. And just a few years later Espinoza, his mother and his two sisters were on their way to New York. They were not alone, as more than 4 million Colombian families were displaced by the political violence between the government and guerilla fighters. (Cantor 20).

My father worked for years as a janitor, a deejay, and a tutor while trying to get his bachelor’s degree and land a job as a teacher in America. After he got a teaching job, he pursued his master’s degree at night, and eventually earned his doctorate, and tenure as a university professor. For this alone, I admire my father very much. He created multiple opportunities for himself, and with little help from anyone or any connections.

The current political climate in the United States has given me a new sense of admiration towards my father, and the adversities he has had to continuously overcome. Being an immigrant has never been easy, and it is particularly polarizing now, with the rhetoric perpetuated by President Donald Trump. Trump has labeled immigrants coming from Mexico, southern and Latin America as rapists, drug dealers and criminals (Barbash). He has encouraged racist and xenophobic sentiment in his supporters, and since he’s been in office there has been an increase in hate crime attacks directed towards immigrant Americans (Federal Bureau of Investigation 2017 Hate Crime Statistics). This has created a tense environment throughout the country, one that can even make speaking Spanish in a public place a risky choice. As a first generation American, I have the luxury of assimilation that my father doesn’t have. Wherever I go, people do not immediately assume my background is very different from theirs, and do not treat me any differently. But my father does not share that experience. Living in an area where many of his neighbors voted for a man who openly speaks against his community, Espinoza has to hold his head high every day, and look into the eyes of many people who may not respect him. His plight is not new, as immigrants for hundreds of years have shared the same struggle to be accepted by “traditional” Americans when they enter the country (Clarke 101). But this does not make it any less admirable.

Leader You Admire Most : Barack Obama

People are deceitful, demanding, and desperately fickle. As a response, deceit, lies, and malice punctuate the character of most individuals. However, every once in a while, there comes about a person that swims against the tide: They possess a stunningly clean record and advocate for the unpopular stances. Furthermore, they are lined with a charming character that endears them to most people. The world seldom witnesses such remarkable attributes in politicians. As a result, all of them are held in high regard. Barack Obama fits the bill for an admirable person. His character, achievements, and devotion to his family make him my most admirable figure.

Barack Obama’s character is often beyond reproach. His charm and eloquence; coupled with a non- confrontational attitude towards naysayers, endeared him to many people (Debenedetti). There are several instances where Obama’s character stood the tests of admiration. For example, his campaign slogan was relatable and undiscriminating. From the onset, Obama understood that he was vying against the racial tension in America, as a response, his campaign strategy included his unconditional appeal for the support from all races in the country (Debenedetti). On one occasion, Obama holds up the umbrella for staffers on a rainy day in Washington. This is a show of humility that is uncharacteristic of the United States political class.

The achievements of Barack Obama are unparalleled in America’s political history. Primarily, he was the first black president (D’Antonio 20). This is observed as a culmination of the struggles of Martin Luther King Junior, and Malcolm X. Furthermore, his unorthodox approach to local and foreign policies was remarkable Obama brokered a deal with Iran, a previous enemy of the United States. Additionally, his nuclear dissolution policy extended an olive branch to North Korea and Russia (D’Antonio 102). Besides, he signed into law the veterans’ act that increased funding for the veterans program; putting an end to a long- inconclusive debate on veteran welfare. The apex of Obama’s achievements is the recalling of American troops from Afghanistan. The move was praised by both sides of America’s political divide.

Ultimately, Barack Obama’s devotion to his family concludes his phenomenal career. He is the first United States president to serve two consequent terms without a sex scandal (Carotenuto). The seat of the presidency has long been plagued with accusations of extramarital affairs; However, Obama’s administration was devoid of any allegations. On the contrary, his devotion to his wife and daughters became the embodiment of true leadership. He publicly displayed his affection for his wife and daughters. Furthermore, Obama openly discussed his African roots; He made conscious efforts to keep in touch with his Kenyan relatives (Carotenuto). Moreover, his handling of family issues was admirable. He openly castigated and mitigated stories that involved his daughters’ misdemeanor. Such events are a culmination of what true parenting and devotion to family entail.

The world is a deceitful and fickle as is the character of most people. However, some individuals veer away from the status quo. A good example is Barack Obama. Primarily, his character is impeccable. He is charming and tolerant of different races and stances. Secondly, Obama’s achievements are diverse and plausible; he developed unorthodox foreign policies and signed landmark bills into law. Lastly, Obama is best known for his devotion and love for his family. There are numerous instances where the former US president exemplifies the model son and husband. These attributes and many others make Obama the greatest and most admirable person of all time.

Effects of Plagiarism In Academics

Plagiarism refers to the use of other people’s ideas, such as assignments or term papers without giving credit for their work. Researchers suggest that plagiarism is one of the main issues affecting the success of most scholars. The act of stealing other people’s ideas and copying their content is against the set standards. In fact, researchers hypothesize plagiarism as a breach of the basic practices in academics. For that reason, students ought to attribute sources of information, while using other people’s research, intellectual property, and ideas. Becker (262) asserts that scholars who plagiarize their work risk being expelled from learning institutions. Besides, it might put the academic reputation of the learning institution into jeopardy. Plagiarism can have substantial adverse effects on students, their relationships with tutors, and even the reputation of the affected learning institutions.

Most scholars perceive submitting other people’s work as one of the most effective ways of completing their assignments. However, students who choose to plagiarize their papers deprive themselves an opportunity of learning crucial concepts on citing sources. Consequently, they progress on their careers and academic levels without mastering effective skills, such as structuring an essay or citing academic sources (Jones). Additionally, the lack of essential skills in writing might cost them opportunities, careers, and even grades. In fact, relying on other people’s work exposes a student to the risk of failure because he or she cannot think independently.

Besides, plagiarism might contribute to a cynical environment in learning institutions. Studies suggest that an effective relationship between students and instructors is crucial in promoting a positive learning environment. However, plagiarism can have negative effects on a student’s mentality, thus creating unnecessary tension (Zhang 102). According to Jones, an instructor can develop a negative attitude towards a student, who plagiarizes their academic work and even inhibit teaching enthusiasm. Apparently, copying other people’s ideas can have serious consequences for students. Contrary, students that are aware of repercussions of plagiarism are dedicated and responsible for their personal integrity.

Furthermore, various campuses and colleges perceive plagiarism as a serious issue that affects academic purity. For that reason, most education institutions admonish their students for plagiarizing assignments. In some instances, students might lose their degrees if the university discovers that they have committed a plagiarism offense. Becker postulates that plagiarism could have negative repercussions on the value of a student’s degree if they copy slabs of academic work and present it like their own (259). Accordingly, students who copy from people’s ideas others without acknowledging them might fail to develop effective critical thinking skills.

In conclusion, plagiarism has adverse impacts on students, learning institutions, and the academic life of a scholar in general. For instance, plagiarism can make a student perform poorly in academics or even get expelled from school. In some instances, the repercussions of using other people’s work without proper attribution might even go deeper than that. Apparently, the rampant instances of plagiarism might damage the reputation of colleges, students, and the general integrity of different forms of academic research. Therefore, students should realize the impacts of their actions, thus helping them avoid the ramifications of plagiarism in academics. Notably, students ought to learn the importance of writing their thoughts as one of the most effective ways of avoiding plagiarism. Moreover, scholars should learn to use their academic skills rather than just replacing words or using correct references.

Project Proposal Outline

A project proposal is a request for financial aid to implement a project.
